v0.4 available now!


Now that the weather is warmer, don't you wish you had somewhere cool to relax? Enjoy the spirit of winter while getting frozen in giant blocks of ice, and defending yourself from living snow monsters, huge worms, and yetis?

...No? You don't wish that?

v0.4 includes 7 new golems, 9 new enemies, 9 new skills, and yet another new area to explore (with its own bosses, soundtrack, and gimmicks!) Not only that, but there's now an achievement system, a daily run (compare runs with your friends on the same seed with unique run modifiers) and some puzzles for people who want to test their knowledge of the game's tactical techniques.

  • Added a third area!
  • 2 new objects (...one of them is a tree, again)
  • 9 new skills

  • 2 new status effects (one buff, one debuff)

Aesthetic

  • Added a half-second pause between enemy skills on their turn so you can tell what's going on more easily
  • Units' idle animations are no longer affected by game speed (so 3x speed doesn't make everyone look like they drank 4 gallons of coffee)
UI and Meta
  • Added a progress indicator of what floor you're on in the corner of the screen
  • The boss bar has been improved for bosses with high health (the way it wrapped around before was kind of ugly...)
  • Options menu now closes with ESC
  • End Turn button now lights up subtly when no more skills are available
  • Reorganized main menu layout
    • (This is the sort of thrilling content you read these devlogs for, right?)

Bugfixes

  • Fixed animations triggered at end of turn (e.g. Blitz's attack) freezing midway through
  • Fixed some weird order of operations tomfoolery when a Gloomshroom was destroyed using Gloom Wave
  • Fixed some possible issues when giving up run during tutorial battle
  • Fixed run playtime being affected by game speed
  • Fixed some errors in boss battle code that was causing boss minions to not be distributed as intended
